    It can get a bit hot - like a hot house - and have seen people using parasols under their laserlite....

    You can get different opacity, and need to choose one based on the orientation etc.

    we had a vergola style one in the last house. Absolutely loved it, never had any water issues the gutters worked perfectly, it had a rain sensor so auto closed quickly, it was controlled via a remote. I added a relay into the side and integrated it with the smart house so could also do it via phone/voice, but importantly it would also auto open each morning to let sun in and close each night to reduce dew build up on the furniture.
